StreamNative, the cloud-native data streaming company founded by the creators of Apache Pulsar, has announced two new products and Partner Programs aimed at making data streaming more accessible and cost-effective.
This announcement comes a few months after StreamNative rolled out Ursa, a new data streaming engine for its managed Pulsar platform – a scalable messaging system that handles large volumes of data streams efficiently.
Ursa is designed to be API-compatible with Apache Kafka, allowing users to seamlessly migrate or integrate Kafka-based applications without the need for extensive reconfiguration or code changes.
Data streaming platforms have emerged as an essential technology for enterprises, powering real-time analytics and decision-making across applications. However, implementing and managing data streaming infrastructure comes with significant operational challenges and complexities.
According to Confluent’s 2024 Data Streaming Report, 75% of IT leaders state their organization has five or more data-related issues, including siloed data, data governance-related challenges, and limited infrastructure to support real-time analytics.
Despite these hurdles, 94% of respondents identified at least five areas where data streaming platforms could help resolve these issues.
The key challenge lies in simplifying and democratizing data streaming infrastructure, making it accessible to a broader range of businesses. This allows organizations to harness real-time data without the need for extensive data engineering expertise or facing substantial operational complexities.
StreamNative aims to change this by introducing StreamNative Seamless and StreamNative Universal Connectivity (UniConn).
Delivering instant provisioning that allows users to get started in seconds, StreamNative Seamless eliminates the need for complex sizing exercises, making it easier for organizations to begin their streaming journey.
StreamNative Seamless also helps improve operational efficiency and reduce cost enabling users to get the most value from their StreamNative Cloud. Built on Apache Pulsar, StreamNative Serverless supports multi-tenancy and scalability, with features such as autoscaling, consumption-based pricing, and an enhanced user interface for improved navigation.
The introduction of serverless capabilities aligns with the industry trend toward adopting serverless architectures in data streaming, which aims to reduce operational overhead and enhance scalability.
StreamNative University Connectivity (UniConn) is available in private preview for StreamNative Cloud. One of the features of this new product is its ability to enhance data streaming by integrating Kafka Connect and Pulsar IO frameworks.
UniConn UniConn offers a unified experience for connecting, processing, debugging, and monitoring data pipelines. It supports over 50 connectors in the StreamNative Hub and more than 100 from the broader Kafka ecosystem. This flexibility allows users to choose between Pulsar and Kafka connectors, avoiding ecosystem lock-in.
At the time of this announcement, StreamNative was launching five connectors within its built-in catalog, however, the company plans on adding more connectors based on demand. StreamNative’s approach to integrating both native and community-supported connectors offers a distinct advantage over its competitors, such as Confluent.

The Partner Programs are designed to meet each client’s industry-specific data streaming needs, allowing them to implement tailored and scalable solutions that address unique challenges and enhance their operations. Partners that are already on board include Pinecone, Risingwave, Calsoft, Nexamind, Timeplus, and Zilliz.
